He allows us to make our own choices and the choices we make have consequences and it effects everyone. Everything you do or say effects someone and it goes on and on like dominos falling.

So in other words he just doesn't care about the children that die every single day
Ryanna has some good answers but in this case does any one have a proper argument?

Yes free will is one thing, but there is also pain and suffering unrelated to the choices we make or the actions we take. If you believe in God the simple answer is that these are his ways. We cannot fathom them.
God does care, He hurts when we do, after all He created us and loves us dearly. It is hard to understand, but God is light and in Him is no darkness.
Why are YOU so sure that God's allowing it ??? Because it could just be the way YOU perceive it. Couldn't it also be the life/God is trying to teach YOU/us lessons, but what we experience. I am an agnostic, and I firmly believe that WE as a species perceive almost everything that goes on as something to do with some "outside force", call it God, or whatever. But we as the dominant species, of this planet, bring it upon ourselves, and only WE can judge whether it's pain and/or suffering. I, myself, prefer to look at it as "lessons", and I try to learn from EACH and EVERY LESSON, life has to give me !!!

Well, these LESSONS you speak of include the painful deaths of NINE-THOUSAND children every day. I will take care of myself but, what about THEM, those who do suffer, This OUTSIDE FORCE or GOD must be very very sick to let this happen.
God is not sick, but this world is./ Someday He will make all things right.
You say the world is sick, not God. Doesn't God preside over the world? Can he do nothing?
It is so hard to understand God's ways, but the book of Isaiah says, His ways and thoughts are not our own. He has a plan for everything, but when sin entered the world, way back with Adam and Eve, then the whole world was cursed. That brought in pain, disease, suffering, natural disasters, violence etc. It is not His will that this all happens, but He gave us all the gift of free will and choice, and when we choose wrong, there is consequences. These consequences are far reaching. It seems Satan has free reigh of the earth, but it is actually limited. Just think how bad it would be if God gave up all control to Satan!
But God DOES care when people are hurting, and suffering. He hurts with us. But He is the Ancient of Days, and He will make everything right again, and someday soon.

Why does god not make it alright NOW? If god is so mighty why can't he do away with the devil, you make it seem god isn't so powerful. And your right his ways and thoughts are not of our own they are the thoughts of a crazed man. You worship a man who has such a wonderful plan for us that includes death and destruction. When will your god make things right hasn't he killed enough. Wait maybe just maybe there is no God. It is wonderful that you people have religions and you have a right to your religion and I'm sure it's to have one but , before you you make such assumptions you should think.
First of all God does not ordain death and destruction. He is the Author of life and light, and love. It is US who choose to do wrong. He is continuing to allow the world to go on to give everyone plenty of time to turn to Him for forgiveness and salvation. But the day IS coming that all this will stop, and he will make all things new. God is mightier than the devil, but He has allowed satan somewhat a free reign on this earth. But He loves us, and sent Jesus to die for us and be raised again to save us. God does not kill. Jesus Himself said that satan comes to steal kill and destroy, but Jesus Himself came to give life everlasting.. No one can completely understand why all this evil prevails, and why God allows it to. But He does not kill or destroy.
Last year my 37 yr old husband died, and I still often wonder why God did not intervene. It is not always for us to know, but to trust God that He is in control and He will make all things new.
But please do not insult my intelligence by telling me I am not thinking. To accept Jesus is the most intelligent thing one can do, but to reject Him is deadly. There is God, He is Holy and righteous, loving and good. But He is far greater than us, and we cannot fathom His ways.

Hey, you're right God doesn't kill or destroy he simply lets it happen again and again he has the power to stop it but doesn't. You are saying that God is giving us time to turn to salvation right, don't you think he could speed up the process by actually proving that he exists? Why doesn't he publicly show himself? Christianity is rejected greatly because, it compares so well to theories of Adolph Hitler. Both God and Hitler had the same idea, "believe the way i do or you're going to hell.

Please, do not call God a crazed man, He is not. He loves us YOU TOO more than you'll ever know.
Right he loves me but he must also love those 9,000 children that die every day
GOD created man, not man created God. I wish you only knew Jesus like I do. Give Him a try- you'll never regret it.
We are living until the second coming of Christ, and only then will he end our pain and suffering. Hope this helps.

What the heck is he waiting on? How long must me wait for god to step in and actually do something? He can stop all of this death now. He must not care about us.
God's ways, thoughts and timing are not our own. We do not have the mind of God, if we did, then we would be God! We have to just trust in Him, His wisdom and love. It is very hard, I know! I struggle with this all the time- since my husband died especially. But I cannot explain it any better- it is just beyond human comprehension. Like, why would He send His perfect Son to be tortured to death? Doesn't make sense to us, but does to God.
Exactly. My point exactly. Thank you Tigger. The whole point in this whole "religion" deal, is Trust in God, otherwise known as Faith. Which is why Religion is also known as Faith. The whole point of it is to believe, hoping that our Faith will pay off. Good answer.
What you have to understand, is that Light cannot exist without Darkness. In my opinion, Light intrudes upon Dark. Take an unlit room, for example. Once you turn on that light, the Darkness no longer exists. Therefore Light is a "thing" that can go on forever, and Darkness is simply an absence of that "thing," which can be measured to an absolute. An end point. Like an "Absolute Zero." A real life example of this, is the fact that "Cold" in science, is defined as: The absence of heat. If that Darkness didn't exist in the first place, the light couldn't coexist. So evil only exists in places where there is no good. Without Evil, Good couldn't exist. Without dEvil, God couldn't exist. So why does he allow evil to exist? I wouldn't say that he "allows" it to exist, as much as it brings itself upon the world in coexistence to light.

Light is not perfect but christians say god is. God does not have to abide by such rules or logic he is supposedly all powerful if he wanted to he could eliminate all evil (darkness) in this world. What you're saying is that God isn't all powerful that he isn't perfect. You are saying that god does NOT have the power to control or change this. That God is helpless in such a situation. I f you're right about this your God must not be so mighty
That's an interesting response, Luke. Being powerless, or having the characteristic of Helplessness, in my own definition, would be the state of being susceptible to any type of change. God is not susceptible to change, other than the change of his own doing. So is he helpless in a manner of speaking? Oh sure, if you could say that he's powerless against himself. But if you would say that, you're saying that "himself" is all powerful.
Light isn't perfect. As i said, the measure of light theoretically extends forever, if your mighty Science is right. In the bible, it is said that the sight of God is so much to behold, that the mere sight of him would blind any of us imperfect humans instantaneously. In the Christian Religion then, theoretically, God IS the endpoint to the measure of Light. God can't eliminate the evil, because it doesn't exist. It isn't a thing. It is the absence of a thing.
Believing in God allows people to feel that perhaps there is a plan much larger than ourselves. The world is unjust and often cruel, but belivers have the hope that one day justice will prevail. We are all so insignificant when compared to eternity. Without a higher power, our existence is pointless. What are we? How small are we in the sea of infinite space? I used to be an agnostic, but as I have grown older, I have become much more tolerant of faith and of other's religious beliefs. I am aware of my own mortality. All people want is a little hope. Maybe it is delusional, but it is a necessary delusion.

This is very true hope is the reason for religion and often it is supplied due to religion. It is good for some people. It is delusional, it is as if you are lying to yourself to make yourself feel better about your life and the world you live in, and in some cases this is alright. However, religion has also supplied this world countless grueling wars and it has resulted in deaths among deaths among deaths. It is also used to down others.
Religion, or perhaps spirituality, has been the reason for many people to help their fellow man. If one believes in no higher power, than why help anyone else? Why not just fend for yourself? Even karma is dependent on a higher power? Please explain. True, the world is injust, but if one does not believe, what is the point of justice?
And why are you asking questions if you feel you have the answers?
