Is There A Railway Through Jakarta?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is rail network throughout Jakarta.Lot people feel that Railway Network is not adequate to cope with need of the growing population of the Indonesian capital. During rush hour it has to bear the terrible overload and even the commuting time gets doubled during rush hour.

The rail network connects Jakarta to the neighbouring cities also, like Depok and Bogor in the south; Tangarang and Serpong in the west; Bekasi, Karawang and Cikampek in the east. The major stations on the rail network are Gambir, Manggarai, Tanah Abang and Jakarta Kota.

The construction of the busy way which was under construction earlier has been completed in 2006 and is serving the second and the third corridor routes which cover the stations from Pulogadung to Kalideres.
