Holland (or the Netherlands - which is larger) is a beautiful, flat, rainy country on the edge of Europe. Most people arrive by plane to the huge airport near Amsterdam (about 20 minutes away), the airport is called Schiphol. (pronounced skip-pol, not Sky-pole).
There are lots of wonderful places in Amsterdam to visit. The Rijks Museum, the Niewe Kerk (contemporary art) and many wonderful places to eat. Take a boat trip around the canals.
That's all very touristy, if you fancy a chill out, take an extremely cheap ticket from any station up to the island of texel, a quite holiday location, with wonderful personality and seals!
Utrecht is at the heart of the countries rail network and is a beautiful city with the great Dome (Dom) and Dome Tower.
Den Haag or The Hague has the Peace Palace, the Parliament and the Working Palace of the Queen.
Rotterdam is... industrial, but there are some fine restaurants
