Before you turn 16 finding work can be a little tricky. It also will inevitably involve doing things you might not actually enjoy or get paid a great deal for.
Some ideas which may inspire you are:
Paper Rounds - ask at local newsagents
Waiter/Waitress - apply to restaurants and pubs
Shops - vacancies are usually advertised in places such as bakeries, gift shops etc
Babysitting - offer for parent's friends and neighbours, but remember some may be difficult to convince if they don't know you very well.
Dog-Walking - ask your neighbours (the elderly may appreciate this service) but ensure you can control the animal before you agree to walking it!
Gardening - mowing someone's lawn or helping to revive overgrown gardens could earn you a few pounds on a Saturday or Sunday.
Car-Valeting - see if anyone in your street would like their car cleaned inside and out for a small charge, like ?5.00 a car.
Fruit-picking - if you live in a farming area during the summer months there is sometimes opportunities to help harvest fruit. Call local farms to see if they need a hand with anything.

To the person who said work in a resturant, legally you can't until a certain age wich i think is either 16 or 18 if they are a licence holding pub (can serve alcohol). i've reaserched it all.

I have got a job in Pillars restaurant but the money is quite terrible. I am only 15 years old and there is no other place I can work because I am under age.
I'm 15 and have applied for 4 different paper rounds, however none have got back to me (and that was over a year ago). So I decided to take things into my own hands and work for myself. So I set up an ebay account not long ago and just by selling unwanted items in my house I've made over £100 in just over a month (which is better than nothing) and I can work to my own hours.
I'm 15 years old, my name is paige rowley and i would love to have a job close to home in Sheffield, something that is at least £4.00 or above a hour. i am happy and i get on with other people i can communicate in two languages Spanish and English. i wish to have a job and thank you for taking your time to read this i appreciate it.
Im 15 and have had 2 jobs. I had one when i was 13, in a hairdressers.
I currentley work in a pub and get paid £4.00 and hour.
So if i were you i would ask around in pubs etc.
Just because you're under 16 doesn't mean you can only get summer jobs, jobs are all around at all times you just got to look.. And if you get a job stick at it for a while don't go and get board otherwise word will spread and no one else will want you!!
Try waitressing or a local supermarket.
This is all wrong!
You can get a job if your 14, basically once your in high school.
Just ask the teacher or whoever handles the job permits,
and go get an application,
then fill it out and the teacher gives you another paper,
and then you get it signed by your manager and principle
im 14, and i work at pet-co.

Sweeping and cleaning parking lots at grocery stores and or shops, washing store front windows, but you are only allowed to work so many hours per week because of school and home work but weekends you can get more time in and you need a parent or guardian to sign a work permit if you are under 16, you did not say your age but there are child work laws in the U.S so you may need a signature to work, perhaps you need to get a work permit from the unemployment office in your area and have a parent to sign it......the best to you
A camp counseler - during the summer if you find yourself with too much time on your hands then find a local kids summer camp and be a counseler

To the person who asked for jobs in mildenhall, i live near there and my advice is get what you can, i work in a pub and get paid. £2.50 an hour! its awful apy and its complely crap job. all my mates are all looking for jobs and some have been lucky enough to find some in pubs and paper rounds but other than that there is hardsly any jobs in this area going, so get what you. £30 a day is brilliant pay compared to £20 for the whole entire weekend! count your self lucky for that pay!

I'm 15 next week and i really would love a job, there are so many things you can do with money. I'm fed up of my 18 year old brother and my 16 year old sister sat at home when they could go out and earn so much money, i would do anything but a paper round. I like to have money on me all the time.
I know that where I live, in Ontario some 14 year old kids work in grocery stores, and some of them also work in campgrounds around town. And finally a lot of the kids do the lawns for people during summer times.
I'm 14 and got a job in a cafe... I called up and she said she would call when there was a vacancy. And there had been names on the list for like a year - it took a couple of weeks and she phones. She said she called me because I lived so local. So just keep trying your local places, get your names put on lists and you never know who might call...cya guys
I'm 15 and i've been looking for a job for about a year. Nobody hires people under 16!! I've tried grocery stores, clothing shops, everywhere but the only place that will hire anybody under 16 is fast food places. At first i was set against working there but after i changed mind and went to ask for an application they told me that there was barely any time. They would actually hire anyone because as soon as there is an opening somebody will get it. Well i guess i will just have to wait until i'm 16...
if you under 16 you can find summer job only

There are absolutely no jobs where I live, iv tried going around and asking, and calling people with adverts but no1 will take an under 16, my parents make me pay for all my clothes and going out with my mates and currently I don't get out much, am running out of jeans and need a new bikini as summer is afoot. Iv read about the ebay comment and would say it is a good idea but I believe you have to be a certain age? Other than that I am completely stuck. Any help here?

Well there are many jobs which are available for the students who are under age of 16s. The students who have small sage can participate in the home jobs and communication jobs like the call center. So you can be the call center agent there are many jobs which are advertised on the daily basis for the call center executives so you can also find the jobs on the different regions for the call center.
So there are many other jobs which are available for the students and youngsters who are under age of 16 year. Hey can go for the jobs related to programming, internet marketing, telemarketing and other internet based jobs. So you can search for the different jobs on the internet. So this is the easy way which you can use in order to get the job. There are few restrictions on the jobs for the students or that requires some experience so that you can not apply for the jobs. So this is the reason you can find the jobs for yourself. So this is all about the jobs for the students.
