Actually, they have Parishes and not burroghs. They also have counties. New Orleans is in Orleans County. LIFE LESSON: The internet is not the ONLY place for information!!!! Pick up a phone, call the city offices and ASK!!!! The good ol' fashioned way. Don't let the internet dummy you down...

New Orleans is in Orleans Parish. Louisiana follows the Spanish system of parishes as opposed to counties. Not to be confused with church parishes, which exist within a state parish.
