Segregation is defined as the practice of forcefully segregating people based on their race or ethnicity. Segregation can take on two forms which are De Facto Segregation and De Jure Segregation.

De Facto Segregation is a kind of racial separation which occurs as a matter of fact. It is based on the social system that provides separate facilities for ethnic groups.

On the other hand, De Jure Segregation is a kind of racial segregation which is enforced by special laws. For example, in most of the Muslim countries, a Non-Muslim can not take important offices like President, Prime Minister, Chief of forces etc.
