Why Is The Keyboard Called The QWERTY Keyboard?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It refers to the layout of keys.  QWERTY is the traditional layout where the Q,W,E,R,T, and Y keys are the top left alphabet keys.  Most people learn to type using a QWERTY style keyboard as opposed to shorthand or one handed keyboards that are often used by stenographers and people that have to type much faster than normal.
