    The Secretary of Labour under the administration of President Jimmy Carter was Ray Marshall or Freddie Ray Marshal. He was the Secretary of Labour throughout the Presidency of Jimmy Carter from the year 1977 to 1981. He is currently a Professor Emeritus of Economic and Public Affairs at the Centennial Chair of Audre and Bernard Chappel at the well known University of Texas located in Austin.

    He was born in the year 1928 on the 22nd of August. He is known to have joined the Navy as a minor at the age of 15 after having lied about his age. He did participate in the Second World War. He studied at Millsaps College and the Louisiana State University. He received an economics doctorate from the prestigious University of California, Berkley. He has been at the University of Texas ever since the year 1962 and only took leave when serving as the Secretary of Labour.
