What Is A Positive Plus A Negative?

    Positive plus a negative is always equal to negative. When two numbers with different signs are added to each other, subtraction takes place. In other words smaller numbers is subtracted from greater number and sign of result is always equal to the sign of greater number. For example, the result of addition of -5 and 2 is -3.

    When a positive number is multiplied with a negative number, the resultant number is equal to the product of two numbers and sign of resultant number is always negative. For example, The product of -5 and 2 is -10.
