Some people believe that the purpose of science is a very simple one. Science allows us to improve our quality of life, sometimes dramatically, by learning more about your bodies, the world we live in and the universe beyond it. The purpose of science is also subject to variation, depending on what subject is being considered, for example, the purpose of astronomical science would be completely different to the purpose of science education.
Science education.

There are four main purposes of scientific education. Firstly, science should provide the learners or students with a basic understanding of the subject and help them to cope with their lives. Secondly, the students should be presented with an opportunity to learn more about science. Thirdly scientific education will provide a contribution towards the intellectual and personal development of students.
And finally, the continued scientific education of students will help to provide the nation with future people who are specialists in the scientific field.
Individual scientific subjects.

Although, the overall purpose of science may be to improve our quality of life by gaining more knowledge about ourselves and our world, the individual purpose will change depending on the subject or branch of science. For example, the purpose of biology is to learn more about the inside of our bodies and how they work, whereas the purpose of physics is to learn more about the physical forces at work and the universe. The scientific branch of medicine is to learn more about diseases, illnesses and injuries and how best to cure/treat them and prevent them.

Overall, each branch of science has an individual purpose, but they all come together to form one big purpose, which is to grant us more knowledge/information about our world, ourselves and how to improve our quality of life, although this last purpose may be more related to other branches of science such as medicine and psychology.

Science is basically a systematic knowledge of everything around us. The basic purpose of science is to help people understand this world and their surrounding. It satisfies the natural curiosity of human beings by giving them logical answers.

The word science comes from the Latin "scientia," meaning knowledge. The definition of science is "knowledge
attained through study or practice," or "knowledge covering general
truths of the operation of general laws, esp. As obtained and tested
through scientific method [and] concerned with the physical world."Science refers to a system of acquiring
knowledge. This system uses observation and experimentation to describe
and explain natural phenomena. The term science also refers to the
organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. Less
formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of
study or the knowledge gained from it.What is the purpose of science? Perhaps
the most general description is that the purpose of science is to
produce useful models of reality.

The main purpose of
science should be to explore nature. It does not matter it improves our life

Science is systematized knowledge derived from observation, study, and experimentation.

It is because of science that we know all that we know.

Without the knowledge gained by science and the discipline required we would be no better than apes.

Compare this with religious faith that has been in conflict with science almost forever. Religious faith also claims to be able to establish knowledge but does not use the scientific methods defined above but relies on revelations from alleged supernatural sources.

The two approaches tend to be opposite and the claims by each often cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, conflict is inevitable.

The purpose of science is simple: Science enables us to improve our quality of life, in many cases quite dramatically.

Science is a systematic way of finding the answer to every"why" that arises in our  brain and helps us not to go mad over the subject because human curiosity is enormous.so science is not only the hi tech gadgets around us but also even the search of god and the basic research on as they call it "THE INITIAL CONDITION" of the universe is also sience.
