What Are Any Possible Disadvantages A Person From A Diverse Background May Face In The Community?

I'd like to believe diverse backgrounds strengthen and enrich people. It gives them a much better outlook. With the world as our global village diverse backgrounds offers us a much healthier understanding of life and people in general.

Yet despite rapidly growing acceptance of diversity, close-minded, orthodox people are a sad reality. You find them almost everywhere. They appear to have sprung up with greater intensity post 9/11, with ethnic communities literally coming under attack. Some people choose to simply shun people from minority communities. Others aggressively target them. In tight-knit communities, where everyone's from one particular background, fitting in can be tough. People from similar backgrounds do have a tendency to actually stick together.

With growing mixed relationships and interaction the world over, people from diverse backgrounds are finding growing acceptance. It gives us all hope.
