I Play Golf And Would Love To Know If There Are Any Exercises I Can Do To Help To Keep Me Fit?

It is essential that you keep fit if you play golf, in order to reduce the risk of injury. The main problem golfers have is with their lower backs, as the swing of the golf club often causes a lot of stress on the lower back. There is a particularly good exercise designed to help strengthen the lower back which is called 'Openers'.

You should begin an 'Opener' exercise, by lying on your side with your left hip touching the floor. Bend both your knees to ensure that they are at 90 degree angles, making sure that the right knee is on top of the left. Extend both of your arms straight out away from the shoulders. Make sure your hands are clasped together and then slowly start by lifting your right arm off of the left arm. Carry on raising and rotating the right arm until it is resting on the other side of the body, opposite to your left arm. Hold the position for around 20-30 seconds and then repeat the routine again by lying on your right side.

The above exercise really does help many people and it can help to prevent back injuries. There are other exercises which can be found online so you really shouldn't have any trouble finding one to suit your needs.
