It could be your hydraulic clutch or standard clutch causing the problem!

By jumping out of gear it most likely chipped on some off the teeth on your gears!
If you don't get it fixed it will most likely jam up or quit going into the gear!
When the clutch heats up from slipping it caused the trouble 90% for sure!

Really need to know if your transmission is a standard shift or an automatic, in order to give you a proper answer to your question.
Sounds like, by the problems you are describing, it's probably an automatic.
If that is the case, the engine and the transmission are controlled by your vehicles computer.
An engine sensor could cause a problem. You need to have your computer scanned to see if it's an electronic or mechanical problem.
Most autoparts store will scan your vehicle at no charge.
