What Are The Layers Of A Lake?
I need to know as much as I can about the layers of a lake. Please help.

Answers
there are three basic layers of a lake
The Epilimnion.. Upper layer. Warmer (less dense) and water it is the zone of light penetration, where most of productivity takes place.
The Metalimnion.. Second layer. its a narrow band and much more colder than the upper, helps to prevent mixing of upper and lower layers.
The Hypolimnion.. Third layer. Plant material either decays or sinks to the bottom and accumulates in the stagnant layer.its the coldest of all.
