First, make sure the fabric does not have food dropped on it. If it does, then the dog is just trying to get the food off it.

If this is not the case, then your dog has picked up a bad habit and needs to be trained to stop it. Make sure you constantly tell it "no" every time you see it doing this, and if you are not at home, put the dog in a room where it can not get access to fabric to nibble on. You can also put bitter apple on the fabric it most commonly chews to get it to stop doing this.

Reward good behavior, and be consistent with your training. Hopefully the habit will go away over time.
