There are some alternatives to facelift surgery such as laser facial resurfacing, tissue augmentation, anti-wrinkle injections and chemical peels. Before deciding which treatment is best suited to your needs you need to consult your doctor to see what is best for you.
Laser facial resurfacing involves using a laser to damage the skin to remove wrinkles. A chemical peel removes the outer layers and works in much the same way, producing a smoother skin once healing is complete.
It is possible also to have injections of fillers such as collagen to plump out wrinkles and provide a fullness to the skin that appears more youthful. Anti wrinkle injections with botulinum toxin paralyse the skin muscles, making it impossible for them to cause wrinkles. This is used a lot on 'crows feet' and forehead wrinkles.
