As the largest city in Montana, Billings is an active city. Its setting near National Parks and wilderness areas as well as other western historical cities makes it a popular destination. The area is full of recreation activities and wildlife. Here are 5 things to see in the area.
Moss Mansion – This restored mansion from the turn of the century rises 45 feet into the air. Furniture, carpets, fixtures and decorations provide visitors a glimpse of life from the time. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Zoo Montana – This 70 acre zoo is home to both native wildlife and animals from around the world. As the only zoo and botanical park in Montana, it is very popular. This lush zoo is home to wolves, bighorn sheep, bald eagles, river otters and other native animals live in natural habitat enclosures while winding trails lead to exotic animals such as tigers, red pandas, and sika deer. There is a homestead ranch and petting zoo for children and a one acre sensory garden.

Western Heritage Center – Located in the historic district, this museum showcases life from the early days of the Yellowstone River valley. There are images, interactive exhibits and artifacts in this turn of the century building.
Yellowstone Art Museum – Visitors to this museum will experience both historic western art and modern and contemporary art. Over 3,000 works from regional artists are displayed.
