I Didn't File My Taxes For 2006 Or 2007. Was I Supposed To Get A Stimulus Check?

I didn't want to pay the fee to file my taxes because it $60 less then what my return was and I felt it was stupid. Was it stupid that i didn't file because I never got my stimulus check?

What you did was foolish for two reasons.  First, until you file a 2007 return, you won't get a stimulus check.  You could be missing out on $600 tax free.  The second reason is that the IRS will probably catch up with you for not filing.  If you had a refund coming, you should always file a return.  If it's a 1044EZ or a 1040A, they are simple enough to file yourself, or their are web sites that you can access that will allow you to do it for free in a variety of circumstances.  They will even "e file" for you at no charge.

If you did not file for an extension, you are ineligible for a stimulus check.  Those who filed for an extension in 2008 for 2007 taxes will receive their check in 2009.

Even if you did file an extension the last day to file with an extension is the 15th of October of the following year so it is too late.
