I have heavy mucus in my stool for about 3 weeks. Should I be concerned?? I see a little bit of blood. Also, I have been going to the bathroom about 3 times a day. Now it is like one time a day, but I still see a lot of Mucus.

Mucus is white or yellow jelly like substance produce bu the mucous membrane of the intestine. Following are reasons of the mucus in stool.
  1. Irritable bowel syndrome
  2. Ulcerative colitis
  3. Anal fissures
  4. Bowel obstruction
  5. Crohn's disease
  6. Bacterial infection
As your white blood count is low and you can be more prone for infection. Anyhow, get your stool test to find out any pathogen, abdominal ultrasound and gastrography.

If you think the doctor isn't right and something else is going on there I would just go to the emergency room or get another opinion from another doctor. A lot can happen in 2 weeks, I think this is too long to wait for an answer. Go to emergency room or another doctor soon!

What did the dog eat? Whens the last time the animal has been wormed?how old is the dog? These are questions that are needed to be known to answer this question!! It could be a bad case of ring worm. Or tape worm. I hate to be the barer of bad news, but this could also be because of a tumor.(lets pray not)get your dog to the vets !!!! Don't waste time, ether of these causes could and will be harmful if not deadly to the dog.then again it could be a virus that the dog has picked up. Still see the vet!

GO TO THE VET! Take a fresh sample of the stool and get him there quickly. Red blood on feces can be from straining but when it full of mucus it can be due to many other things like parasites or imbalance. Just play it safe go visit the vet. In the mean time some Pedi-lite and water (give only a measured amount so you know how much is being consumed)will help with the elctrolite balance. Good luck!

Sounds to me like Diverticulitis., and yes you need to be see asap. Any bloody stool means something severe is going on, I wouldn't wait any longer. I also had some of these symptoms and it isn't fun. Good luck.
