Where Is The Island Of Ailinginae?

Ailinginae is a municipality of the Marshall Islands in the Ralik Chain (a chain of islands). Rongelap Atoll is the closest landmass to Ailinginae.

Ailinginae consists of a large central lagoon and is hollowed out. Ailinginae's width is 27 km and its breadth is 9 km. The island is surrounded by reef (rock).

25 islands make up Alinginae Atoll, and the total land area of them is 2.8 km squared. There are two entrances into the lagoon - Mogiri Pass and Eniibukku Pass' (0.9 and 0.3 miles wide). These islands have an average temperature of about 27 degrees celcius during the daytime. They are slightly warmer during the night, a result of cold weather associated with rain showers.

U.S dollars are used there, and a passport is needed for visitation. You do not need a visa, and flights can be taken from Continental Air Micronesia and Aloha Airlines.
