My Cat Has Black Dirty Ears Inside And I'm Not Sure What To Use To Clean Them And How. Do You Have Any Suggestions?
My cat sometimes shakes her head and sometimes scratches her ears and black stuff falls out but its not mites just that her ears are dirty. I've tried to clean them but she doesn't like it and I just want to use the right stuff and use the right thing to get all that dirt out! Can you help me?

Ivomec® (Ivermectin) is the most effective treatment to date. It is now commonly used by a number of veterinarians in the U.S. For the treatment of ear mites in cats and dogs. This is the same prescription medicine used in monthly heartworm preventative tablets for cats and dogs and requires that you take your pet to the vet for treatment.
There are two methods of application - by injection or topically in the ear canals.
It has been our experience that this is absolutely the most effective method of eliminating an ear mite infestation in a large group of animals.

Ok first of call ur vet and get an apointment to see him/her. The reason y i say this is that could be a sighn of ear mites. Now if you realy wish to clean ur cats ears get some peroxide and cotten swabs and gently swab them clean ur cat wont like it so wrap it in an old towl. The vet recomended that you buy ear mite and flea preventing substance. When you apply this keep it on the back of the neck or right behind the ears i no both my cats gaght ear mites last year so have fun.

This is an okay answer. I really don't want to take my cat to the vet, so I was looking for something either over the counter or a home remedy. But thank you! When I get enough money to take her to the vet then I'll request the Ivomec.
