You will need to provide at least two forms of identification to the bank. A Driving Licence and Passport are acceptable and in addition most banks ask for proof of your address and will accept a utility bill such as an electricity bill with your name and address on.
You'll need to fill in a variety of forms with full name, address, previous addresses if you've lived in your present one for less  than three years.
You'll also probably be asked for proof of income. You'll be asked to provide employment details and salary details. The bank ill carry out a credit check on you so you need to declare any bad debts , court orders etc. Even if you do have a bad credit rating you may be able to open an account which allows you to have a till card rather than a cheque card .
It saves a lot of time if you take along three forms of identification and proof of income.
