Snowboards are available in various sizes and shapes and depend upon what kind of riding you intend.
Racing/Alpine: These boards are long, stiff to very stiff, hard boots, are slightly waisted and are direction able.
Freeride: They are Waisted, at times flexible, range between medium to long length, soft boots and are direct able.
All-Mountain: It is Waisted, Varying in flexes and lengths, soft boots, at times directional, its purpose is to execute Free ride and Freestyle Boards really well.
Swallow-Tail: Basically this is a wider board which has a split going through its tail. These boards are generally for use in powder.
Split: The split board comprises of a stable board which can be divided into two touring skies, which are useful for deep backcountry conditions.
Fish Shape: It is a board which is shorter and wider which is particularly designed to get rid of leg fatigue in deep powder.
Freestyle (With Rails) It is waisted, flexible, short in length, soft boots, with twin direction ability and is light in weight.
