Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The flag of Botswana is made up of three colors. At the top there is a light blue strip, a black one in the center and then again a light blue at the bottom. The flag also has white strips. This flag was adopted on 30th September, 1966. The colors are in the ratio of 9:1:4:1:9. These colors have a specific meaning; color blue stands for water or rain. This has been derived from the Botswana’s Coat of arms and their motto “let there be rain”. Then the other two colors black and white have also been derived from Zebras because they support or represent their coat of arms. In addition to this, these two colors also represents that there is no conflict between various races and there is racial harmony.
