The story track of this novel is that Christian Wakefield a very beautiful and young English woman recklessly follows her brother from London to Cairo only to find that she is abducted from her bed by a stranger.
The stranger is Philip Caxton who is half- English and half Arab. It is a story about how she falls in love with Philip Caxton but gets kidnapped again by a tribe to get revenge on Philip Caxton. But he manages to save her and escape narrowly escapes death but the lovers have another misunderstanding. All this gets sorted out in the end and they get married and live happily.
