How Can I Get Better Gas Mileage Out Of A Full Size Truck?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

One can get better gas mileage out of a full size truck by following some simple things and remembering the following tips. It is necessary to remove the unwanted cargo and extra luggage or weight from the truck because this unnecessary weight consumes more fuel. Employ cruise control on long distant journeys on highways and use the smallest engine required. Bigger engines consume more fuel and lessen gas mileage. Don't tread heavily on the gas pedal; use it slowly to preserve the gas. Turn off the engine when it the truck is not in use.

Check that the tyres of the truck are in good condition and take efforts to keep them properly inflated because underflated tyres cause more pressure and more consumption of gas. Use air conditioning only if absolutely necessary. Maintain the truck properly and do regular maintenance checks. Don't drive at unreasonable speed limits; more gas is consumed with the increase in speed. Plan efficient routes while setting out on a journey and try different brands of gasoline to see if any of them offer better mileage.
