How Do I Know If My Travel Insurance Policy Is Any Good?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When buying a travel insurance policy it is important that you check the small print and find out exactly what you are buying.  If a policy seems too good to be true, then it is likely that this is indeed the case and if anything did happen, you may find that you have to bear a large part of the costs.
Some insurance policies may specifically exclude activities such as driving or skiing, so make sure that any policy you buy covers any activities you may wish to undertake whilst abroad, especially if they could be viewed as 'high risk' or dangerous.
If you do have a medical condition you need to declare this, even if it puts up your premiums, otherwise treatment may not be covered if you needed to get it abroad.
Remember as well that sometimes you will have to pay for any medical or legal expenses whilst abroad and then claim the money back.
