Is Reading The Terms And Conditions Always A Good Idea?

Answer Question

Yes, definitely. Certainly a healthy dose of scepticism is a good precaution when digesting the sales pitch vented by anyone subscribing to the "latest cut-price greatest deals of all time" school of thought. An adage that is already well-worn in its application to the internet is that if something sounds too good to be true, it's probably just that.

Always check the Terms and Conditions thoroughly before signing up. It's in here you will find the catch, the unpleasant surprise that will knock your carefully-crafted calculations out of kilter.

Admittedly, reading T&Cs isn't the most enthralling of past-times. But, hey, it's your money we're talking about here. Going through the Terms and Conditions is time-consuming and tedious but could may save lots of money in surprise charges the marketing department didn't spend a whole lot of time shouting about.

There is -  and if there isn't there should be - a law that states the smaller the point size and general user-unfriendliness of the formatting, the greater the chances the Terms and Conditions are seeking to obscure something.
