Cooking LIVE Lobster ? Help....

A friend JUST dropped off some Live Lobster ! Are you supposed to drop them in head first when you cook them ? I cooked them once many years ago and all i remember doing was throwing them in and running because i didn't want to hear them screaming ! Should they stay cold in the refrigerater or can i put them outside until later tonight ! It's 20 degrees out there right now.

Boil water in large pot enough water to cover lobster.  Cover and boil about 10 minutes per pound.  Until lobster is good and red.

You don't want them frozen, especially if they are live.  Yes, they do scram when put into the boiling water but that is just the way it is (no, I am not that morbid, I would have a problem with it as well). I hear that putting some wine in the water gives the lobster some additional good flavors but still don't understand how it could penetrate their shell. A chef told me that though and said that wine really does give it a good flavor.
