Kalahari is basically desert that is present in sub-Saharan Africa. It has an area of 900,000 square kilometers and is spread over Namibia and Botswana. It is basically an arid desert that does not have any permanent desert water. However, it supports a variety of flora and fauna. That is why it is often not considered as a desert so it would not be wrong to consider it as a semi desert.

This is because it has an annual rainfall of 250mm and has a temperature range of 20-45 degree C.  It is home to a number of varieties of Acacia Trees as well as other herbs and grasses.
