    The presence of caffeine in tea was discovered in tea in 1827 and it was named as theine. Later on it was also found in various other plants as well. Caffeine is naturally present in the tea plants and the amount of caffeine in tea depends on various factors like the kind of tea plant, its size and its origin. Moreover, the way the tea plant is ground and the method of steeping also determines the amount of caffeine in the tea. There are many controversies about the use of tea because of the presence of caffeine like most of the people think that it can cause cardiovascular disease, cancer etc. However, US Food and Drug Administration has carried out the research in 1987, and found out that caffeine does not cause any harm in the body. They also showed that use of caffeine in alcohol can cause problems but its use in tea does not cause any harm. You can go through the complete details from the given link:
