How Are Rare Species Of Animals And Birds Protected?
Answers
Today a number of countries have enacted laws to protect their flora and fauna from extinction like for example the United States Endangered Species Act (1973) and on a global level the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species with varying degrees of success. Another measure implemented widely is the setting up of reserves in the natural habitat of endangered species to protect them from hunters and human encroachments; though protected reserves have helped in the conservation of endangered species poaching remains a major problem. Also laws wherein keeping endangered animals or hunting them is legally punishable have their limits and cannot be enforced in all situations.
Many non profit organizations like sponsor animal are doing significant work in this field in various countries where people concerned about their natural heritage come together to help in conservation efforts and to educate the people as to how all species are a vital part of the ecosystem the extinction of which will lead to serious imbalance that would ultimately affect all species. At present wildlife conservation includes various activities from studying and researching the animal habitats to aiding the natural breeding process using modern tracking equipment.
