Not having a mobile phone and not wanting one does not make you peculiar. We all have individual characteristics, and different likes and dislikes to fit those characteristics. There can be any number of reasons you do not like mobile phones, or you may not like them just like that, without any particular reason. It definitely does not make you peculiar. We have our reasons for liking or not liking things or people. As long as we are comfortable with the idea of being without that specific object or person, it is okay. There is such a thing as individual choice, and if that choice in your case means saying 'no' to mobile phones, so be it.
There are people that do not like animals, and then there are people that do not like gadgets. Whatever it may be, it is about individual choice, and choosing a certain thing or choosing to do without a certain thing is not being peculiar. If you do not like mobile phones because you feel they are intrusive, it is your choice. You may be labelled someone who takes their personal space seriously, and that is by no stretch of imagination being peculiar. If you do not like them because you have a thing against technology, you may be labelled an anti-technologist, but not peculiar. Whatever be the reason, it is finally about your choice, and peculiarity does not figure in the scheme of things there.

No at all, I have a mobile phone too because my parents insisted that I should have one because it's a necessity but in reality I really don't want one... i just put it in my drawer and it stays there for months.. and I looked at myself and my other friends who brings there cellphones everywhere and I spotted a difference, because unlike them I don't have any problems because there's nobody to bother me around all day unlike them ever second somebody text messages them and they're still quite busy and it's a hassle... and sometimes most fights are created through cell phones because strangers text message you...
Remember that you're not strange, because there are also others who are like you, me and there are still others who are like us ...

No you're not. But you must reason that it is good to grow with the times. Nothing's wrong if you to not want to own a mobile. You might need it someday soon. So best to have one i think. Even the elderly at old-age homes has one nowadays. Goodluck and don't miss out on the good life

Not wanting to have a mobile phone is not a peculiar characteristic. It depends upon your want or financial situation

Hi Ronart,
No, you are not peculiar.
Years ago when cell phones were new I didn't want one either, but my husband insisted since I went to the gym at night (not returning until almost 10 PM) and he always worried about me. Today I wouldn't be without one.
Had I been without one I would not have known that my husband's car was hit by someone who ran a stop sign while he was on the way home from work (he was shaken but not hurt, thank God!) and I would not have known that my daughter flipped her friend's mother's SUV over on a rainy day while going to pick up lunch (neither she nor the boy with her were hurt, thank God!). I also would not have been able to call for help when I fell on the floor and couldn't get up the day I was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I needed the phone again when I fell on the floor this past August due to another attack and couldn't get up (is this a pattern for me? LOL!).
I now carry my cell phone on my person every day and at all times, but this is a personal decision.
Just be sure to do what is right for you and that you don't do what others want you to do; don't be bullied!
Have a WONDERFUL rest of the day and thanks for letting me share my opinion with you!

Of course not. It's a choice you make. Whether you can afford to buy one or not, is not the issue. It's your personal discretion. However, I'll make a wild guess why you don't want one...you don't like to be reached at any given point...coz you're a very private person. Just correct me if I'm wrong. Have a nice day Ronart.
