Is There Any Other Calender Followed By Any Other Countries?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Though there is only one calendar that is universally accepted, you can find some other calendars also that some countries use. But even in those countries the calendars are for religious purpose only and they too conduct their official functions on the basis of the Gregorian calendar.

If we take the example of India, all the officials functions are organized according to the Gregorian calendar but most of the festivals that are being organised in the country follow the Hindu calendar. To some extent this calendar also follows the Gregorian rule but when it comes to adjusting dates there is some difference. The Gregorian adjusts itself by making the month of February of twenty-nine days every four years and in the Hindu calendar they adjust the dates by increasing the number of months every few years.
