What Does It Mean When You Lack Dynamism?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When it is said that a person lacks dynamism, this means that the person comes across as having little "dynamic" personal qualities. The person appears to be rather dull, with not much energy or strong feelings about anything. The word "dynamic" comes from the substance "dynamite," which is a very powerful explosive that is often used to blow holes in mountains or rocks to create holes for mining or for making highways.

Thus, a "dynamic" person is one who has a strong personality with a lot of energy in life; he or she is able to capture the interest and admiration of others, and may be very hard to say "no" to or resist. Many political leaders, armed forces leaders, and philosophers have been called "dynamic" because of their ability to obtain the obedience and respect of others. So a person who lacks dynamism is one who is quiet, has a laid-back personality, does not seek to convince or persuade others, and is considered as "mild mannered."
