Do I Have A Right To Sue My Landlord?

He changed my locks and threw my belongings into storage without any warning...saying it's because I was 2weeks late, and some of my belongings are missing....west Virginia

    Yes, you do.  He has to preform an eviction according to law.  And if he tries to say he did he did not.  He has to post the eviction notice on your door of have someone serve it to you.  And he has to give at least 2 weeks to 30 days notice.

      Go to the landlord/tenant board, and talk to them as soon as you can. Without an eviction notice, he can't do that to you, whether you have a rental agreement or not. Hope this helps, good luck to you.

        Yes you do the law is clear an eviction notice has to be given with a therty day notice first unless you did something illegal that breaks the lease . Barring that he must follow all eviction processes. Starting with a trherty day notice that must be served by a court server. Giving you time to make arrangements to pay up or to move out. If this was not done you could sue him and file a criminal complaint with your local da. Than your local da could hall him in to court wear a judge could hit him with some pretty hefty fines.
