What Is Pork?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Pork is a meat that is always taken from pigs. This meat is red in color due to its high myoglobin content and is very high in thiamin. However, in the early years the National Pork Board in the United States tried to position pork as another white meat with the help of advertising campaigns. This campaign gained so much popularity that the percentage of pork consumption reached the count of 87 per cent.

However, pork is restricted in the Islamic world like Iran, Mauritania, Oman], Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Pig is one of the oldest forms of domestic animals of 5000 BC. They are generally consumed as food, however they also include multiple uses like their hide is used for shields, their bones for apparatus and weapons, and their bristles for brushes.
