    Sundance Film Festival  was founded by Sterling Van Wagenen and John Earle, Sundance Film Festival was established with the goal to showcase the potential of independent film. The Festival began in Salt Lake City in 1978 as the Utah/US Film Festival in an effort to attract more filmmakers to Utah. The festival comprises competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, both feature-length films and short films, and a group of non-competitive showcase sections.

      Sundance Film Festival is a film festival. This festival takes place on annual basis in the state of Utah in United States. It is considered as the most largest independent movie festival in America.

      This festival admits and showcases new work by American and international independent movie makers. It features dramatic and documentary films. There are separte sections of feature length films and short films.
