    A telescope is a gadget designed to observe distant objects. This term is mostly used for optical telescopes, but there are various other telescopes mainly for electromagnetic radiation and any other kind of signals. The optical telescope is an optical tool which assembles and focuses on electromagnetic radiation. The telescopes enlarge the evident angular size of remote objects, as well as their brightness. Telescopes generally comprise of one or more curved optical elements like lenses or mirrors-to collect light or any other electromagnetic radiation and to produce that light or radiation to a focus, where this reflection can be observed, photographed or studied.

    Optical telescopes are mainly used for astronomy; Single-dish Radio telescopes are generally centering radio antennae's which often have a parabolic shape. Telescopes are regularly characterized by the details of their design, and are usually named after their creator.
