Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The living actor who has made the most films to date is Christopher Lee, who at the age of 84 has appeared in nearly 230 films, beginning with Corridor of Mirrors in 1948, and has most recently appeared in Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride. In his career he has played some of cinema's most iconic figures, most notably Dracula, the Mummy and Frankenstein in the Hammer Horror series, Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequels, Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun and Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also holds the record for the tallest leading man at six feet five inches and is descended from Italian royalty. Other living actors to have amassed a large amount of screen credits includes Samuel J. Jackson with 107, Morgan Freeman with 79 and Gene Hackman with 97. Alternatively, many Bollywood actors have appeared in numerous films due to their rapid production, with some exceeding five hundred.

I logged on to answer this, it may be late, but due to his birthday, Christopher Lee (May 27, 2009; he's 87 today) has the record I think if you only count theatrical releases, this does include voice work. He has been in, or will be in (by 2010) 265 movies! That means since his debue in 1948, (61 years in the busines) he has averaged more than 4 apperiances per year!!!
