Which Is Better To Pursue? Masters Or Doctorate Degree In Physical Therapy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The minimum educational requirement is a master's degree, although a lot of educational programs also provide the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree. In fact the bachelor's degree in physical therapy was replaced by the turn of the 21st century, by masters and doctorate physical therapy degrees.

Masters in Physical Therapy is ideal for those students who have completed their
Bachelor's degree and are keen to pursue a career in physical therapy. It is a two year long master's programme. The first year is centred on theoretical concepts of physical therapy. The second year is more focused on field work and practical physical therapy training.

The Doctorate in Physical Therapy Degree is also recommended for those people who have completed their bachelor's degree and are desirous of a career in physical therapy. The degree course is normally one year longer than the Master's in Physical Therapy. When the course is completed, the student earns the dPT or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
