    The name Sang is believed to be of German origin. It is believed that the name could have dated back to the twelfth century. The name Sang is also believed to be an occupational surname. The name was originally for a person who was by profession, a singer for instance, even a person who came from a family of singers of ballads etc. The name has various variations including Senger, Saenger, Sengher, Sang, Singer and Sanger.

    Sang can also refer to the Saudi Arabian National Guard which is an alternative branch of the Saudi Arabian Defence Forces. This branch of the armed forces was created to act as a balance to the Saudi Armed forces. The force was created to protect the ruling form of government in Saudi Arabia.
