The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. First of all you want to drain the tank as much as possible too eliminate the weight and chances of spillage. Then unhook the positive battery cable, then jack up rear of car or raise on hoist if available. Unplug wire harness connector to fuel pump on rear of tank, disconnect fuel lines, then remove bolts from tank straps[2 of them] when removing the bolts make sure you have support under tank so it doesn't drop on you . Once tank is low enough take a hammer and flat head screw driver to remove the retainer ring from around fuel pump, remove the pump. When installing make sure the seal oring is stays in place during installation. Then just reverse the process. The filler tube will slide out when lowering the tank lube the tube before installing tank it will slide in easier.

It's better to remove the negative cable when doing repairs. That way if you touch the chassis, it won't spark or melt your tools.
