How Was The Life Style Of The Rich Chinese In The Times Of The Mughals Emperors?

When the Mughals were in power in India the Chinese were being just introduced to the western rule and other foreign culture. The Mughals ruled India during the 16th and 17th century. at this time China and its society was also being transformed and it marks the beginning of a change in the basic Chinese society.

It was the time when Chinese society was very rigid and particularly very restrictive as far the aristocracy and their women were concerned. In the 17th century Christian missionaries came to china and started spreading their teachings and beliefs. The western culture and influence came to be mixed with Chinese art, science and culture. This led to a reformation period among the Chinese elite. They at first resented the western influence in their culture but slowly and gradually the scenario began changing and social evils like foot binding were condemned. The elite class in china started freeing themselves of self induced bondages and accepting the western culture to a small extent.
