Unapproved means that your question is in the waiting list, wait for some time soon the moderator will check the answer and then your question will be either approved or disapproved by the moderator.
If your question is disapproved then following might be the reasons.
1. Grammatical Problem. (edit it)
2. Copy pated from other sites (edit it)
3. Doesn't look like question (edit it).
4. Question already on blurtit. (can't edit it).

None of the reasons for the disapproval of my original question applies to my question. So will you be more specific as to why my question was not approved? The original question was - How would 1/2 gram read on a digital weight scale that weighs in grams? Thank you.
"How would 1/2 gram read on a digital weight scale?" is enough you don't have to write "that weighs in grams" because you already mention that its 1/2 gram.... :)
So edit your question and then see .. hope it might help

It may be seen as something related to illegal activity, info needed to weigh a substance in preparation for selling it... that isn't something we'd want to give info or advice on. Not saying that's the reason for your question, just a thought on why it might have been rejected.

If it was something illegal, I wouldn't be stupid enough to ask in on the Internet where any and everybody could have access to it - you think? Perhaps in this big world some pinhead would be that stupid, but that doesn't happen to be moi - dig? An answer like "I don't know" might be a more appropriate answer. At least it's just as rational as this answer :-)
If you could be courteous enough to actually read my answer, that would be rational. I clearly stated "Not saying that's the reason for your question" so dig that. Read. I wasn't attempting to explain your reason for asking, I gave an answer that is possibly a reason your question was rejected - dig?? And Pinhead? you said it, not me. And since I at least gave you the consideration of my time, I provided an honest, well thought out answer, you could at least appreciate that and not try to jab me with your ineffective wit and sarcasm. And the "poor" rating, it's your opinion and you have the right to it but it seems to me you're just looking for a way to put someone down to build yourself up. And lastly, I wouldn't waste my time or yours by giving the silly answer you suggested, if I felt like I don't know, I would not give any response to your question at all. The fact that you see that answer as rational boggles my mind. You must also have your own opinion about what that word means too. Are you writing your own dictionary? I'm going to leave it at that because I don't think you want to try and match wits with me, I don't feel like being a meany and you're just pushing buttons you shouldn't. peace.
Why would this question not be appropriate? I have a new scale with which I am to weigh my foods according to the recipe and pardon me if I don't happen to be sauvy in the area of converting oz. to gms, etc., however, I have found a website dedicated to just that. So thank you very much as I have now all of the information I need to be able to use the scale. It also weighs in other weights that I have never even heard of but since I don't have a use for them, I won't bother to find out what they are. I am appalled that the far gone conclusion would be that there was something illegal involved with this question. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Not everyone should be judged with such a broad stroke with an assumption drawn on the side of the negative. What has our world come to?
You totally miss the whole point here...You asked a question, why your other question was rejected. We gave you reasons why it may have been rejected. Instead of considering the answers you received, you take the responses as if we're judging you and your reasons for asking about the scale and grams etc. We don't know why you asked it and we didn't comment on that. Your question was rejected and it could be possible it's because it was found to be inappropriate, no one ever made the assumption that you are guilty or involved in illegal activity. Read the answers but first read your own question. Don't ask questions you don't really want answers to, I wouldn't jump to help you in the future, you're rude and ungrateful. Good that you got the info you wanted but your attitude is contributing to "what has our world come to." Misunderstanding, miscommunication, intolerance and misdirected aggression.
