    Hot spots in dogs are actually localized secondary bacterial infections. These hot spots start with irritation due to many irritants like
    1. Fleas
    2. Insect bite
    3. Skin parasites
    4. Food allergy
    5. Poor grooming
    6. Contact allergy
    Continuous scratching and licking of the affected areas by the dogs result in to secondary bacterial infection, this is called hot spot. Treatment includes use of antibiotics and topical corticosteroids. So, your vet can help your in a better way to treat hot spot in your dog.
