My previous landlord has withheld money from my security deposit for general cleaning and carpet cleaning. Other than normal wear and tear this was not necessary in our opinion. They also withheld for propane for the swimming pool even though it states in the agreement that that is the responsibility of the tenant. Are they legal with holding this money?
Go to your landlord/tenant board and talk to them about this. If it's in the least that you are responsible for the pool, and you took care of it, then there is no reason that they should be able to do this. Hope this helps, good luck to you.
1st of all, if you left it clean minus normal wear & tear on carpet & u can provide pics as to the condition in which you left said property, then I say no the landlord cannot withhold monies for that. I am perplexed upon your Q. Re: Propane 4 pool as you state ur agreement clearly states the "tenant" is responsible, well, then my dear you as the previous "tenant" are responsible for that part of the scenario.♥
