          Hypnosis is a technique of mesmerizing the mind then altering and controlling the consciousness. There are many techniques by which a person can get hypnotized.

          The "you are feeling sleepy" is the standard technique of hypnosis. When one is hypnotized his motor coordination slowly decreases. He can only pay attention to one stimuli. He will not be able to feel any pain. He can believe every thing one says to him. The fictional surroundings discussed with him begin to shape and become his world. Loses all senses of reality

          However, it will be very difficult or should one say impossible for a hypnotized person to know all that they felt during the hypnosis. Thus confirming that there is a tendency to forget or 'post hypnotic amnesia' to occur.

          However the hypnotizer will not necessarily be able to hypnotize thus the true hypothesis of hypnosis is difficult to accept.

Unless the hypnotist specifically mentions that you shall not remember anything that happened during hypnosis, you will remember everything.

However, there are some new very controversial yet very powerful techniques, such as covert hypnosis, which allows the hypnotist to hypnotize someone in just seconds, without the awareness of the subject by simply talking to him.
