Are Lizards Good To Keep As Pets And What Is Their Relation Ship With Humans?

Lizards are not only available in deserts but now many people have them as pets in their homes too and are not afraid of keeping them. The bearded dragon is a common lizard kept as a pet. Other lizards which are common pets are iguanas, leopard geckos, tegus and monitor lizards.

However it is hard to maintain them as pets since they can create a lot of mess after feeding and it becomes difficult to clean up. If you have a lizard as a pet, it is very important to find a good veterinarian who has specialization in lizards.

Although most lizard species do not cause any harm to humans since their bites can not even draw blood and they are tiny but there are still some which can even kill humans. For example the Komodo dragon, which is the largest lizard species is a threat to humans and is known to attack and kill humans and feed on them.

Other lizards such as Gila Monster and the beaded lizard contain venom in their bites however they are not deadly and can not harm humans. Many lizards are kept as pets and also to control pests since they feed on insects and take care of them. Although some lizards are also eaten as food, for example the iguanas in Central America are a great delicacy.

I don't know much about lizards but in my country we believe that lizard brings bad luck. n its proven many many times. think about it. y not u go for something more interesting? dwarf hamsters? poodle dog? iguana ain't bad.
