Which Vehicle Can Carry More Bales Of Hay, A Land Rover 90 Or A Classic Range Rover?

Answer Question

I can only vouch for the proper sized bales that farmers use. Not the bales you get from pet shops on those out of town shopping centres for lining the cage of your hamster or rabbit.

Anyway, you can fit five into the rear of a 90 by placing two on the floor and three width ways. At a push you can carry six but you want be able to see much of what is happening behind you or from the left with the sixth bale sitting on the front passenger seat.

A classic Range Rover, meanwhile, will carry six bales in the back with the rear passenger seats folded down. You can then accommodate six bales by stacking them two high width ways. Unfortunately, it will usually not be possible to close the upper section of the tail gate. But a length of strong twine or string is sufficient  to stop it bouncing up and down. Tie one end round the right hand rear towing eye, then loop the other end through the handle of the upper tail gate.
